Bally's Corporation has finalized the acquisition of Sam's Town Hotel and Casino in Shreveport, Louisiana, from Boyd Gaming. The transaction officially closed on August 4, 2026.
The purchase integrates an established gaming and hospitality property into Bally's growing portfolio. Management plans to rebrand the venue under the Bally's name shortly following the ownership transfer.
Market Investment and Local Collaboration
Soo Kim, chairman of Bally's Corporation, described the deal as a milestone in the company's regional expansion. He acknowledged the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for the approval and emphasized the importance of a smooth transition for employees and local leaders.
Entrepreneur Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, a major investor in Shreveport's entertainment district, welcomed the closing. Jackson expressed intent to collaborate with Bally's on creating new dining and retail experiences within the city.
The potential acquisition was first announced in February, preceding the final regulatory review and closing.
